Hong Kong dollar interbank offered rates displayed divergent trends on September 2, with the one-month rate closely tied to mortgage lending easing slightly while longer tenors edged upward.
The one-month HIBOR, which serves as a key benchmark for home loan pricing, settled at 2.86256%, down 0.143 basis points. Meanwhile, the three-month rate, which reflects bank funding costs, climbed 0.142 basis points to 3.02821%.
Overnight rates experienced a notable decline, dropping 34.036 basis points to 2.94214%. The one-week tenor fell 15.047 basis points to 2.92536%, while the two-week rate slipped 6.464 basis points to 2.82679%. The two-month rate held steady at 2.95000% with no change.
On the longer end of the curve, the six-month HIBOR gained 0.072 basis points to 3.21399%, and the twelve-month rate rose 1.697 basis points to 3.53024%.
