Touyun Biotech Forms Five-Year R&D Alliance With Shenzhen University to Commercialise “Chlamyglutide”

Touyun Biotech and Shenzhen University (SZU) signed a five-year Strategic Cooperation Agreement on 15 April 2026 through Touyun’s wholly owned subsidiary, Shanxi Touyun Biotechnology.

The partners will create the “SZU–Touyun Biotech Chlamydomonas reinhardtii Joint Research Centre”, a non-legal-entity platform focused on synthetic biology applications of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. Shanxi Touyun will commit RMB5.00 million, payable in equal instalments of RMB1.00 million per year, to cover research and operating expenses during the initial five-year term; the agreement renews automatically upon expiry.

The first commercial target is SZU’s patented engineered algal strain that stably expresses a human GLP-1 receptor agonist, branded “Chlamyglutide”. Under the agreement: • Shanxi Touyun will oversee pilot-scale production, regulatory filings, large-scale manufacturing and global sales. • SZU will supply regulatory documents, engineered strains, technical dossiers and professional training. • SZU and its inventor team will receive an agreed percentage of future Chlamyglutide sales. Separate contracts covering intellectual property, strain management and confidentiality will be executed to protect joint outputs.

Collaboration Rationale Touyun Biotech operates the world’s only industrial-scale Chlamydomonas reinhardtii fermentation facility, with 4,000-ton annual powder capacity at its Changzhi plant. The partnership grants Touyun priority or exclusive commercialisation rights to SZU’s advanced algae-based biopharmaceutical technologies, positioning the company for a steady pipeline of high-value products while accelerating technology transfer from academia to mass production.

Management views the arrangement as revenue-generating activity conducted in the ordinary course of business and considers the terms fair and reasonable. Shareholders and prospective investors are advised that project outcomes remain subject to customary R&D and regulatory uncertainties.
