Leveraging the ecological assets of Fanjingshan, Tongren City has established a robust quality foundation through standardized systems, targeting the premium markets of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area while also expanding overseas channels to promote its specialty agricultural products.
From January to August this year, the city capitalized on east-west cooperation opportunities, achieving agricultural sales totaling 1.422 billion yuan.
At the Fanjing Egg Valley base in Panxin Town, Songtao Miao Autonomous County, fresh eggs undergo light inspection, grading, and packaging before being loaded into refrigerated trucks for direct shipment to the Greater Bay Area. As a designated production base for the Bay Area's "vegetable basket" program, the enterprise has established its own layer hen research institute and developed internationally benchmarked "SDL standards" that cover 1,185 control points across the entire supply chain, ensuring full traceability from chick rearing, feeding, to cold-chain transportation.
Company General Manager Liu Fei noted that the base produces approximately 900,000 eggs daily, with 60% to 70% delivered by dedicated vehicles directly to the Greater Bay Area. Their proprietary cold chain maintains transit times between 13 and 16 hours, receiving positive market feedback, with consumers recognizing the high quality and taste of Guizhou's ecological eggs. As of June this year, the base housed 1 million laying hens with an annual fresh egg output of 18,000 tons.
In Jiangkou County, capitalizing on Fanjingshan's high altitude and frequent mist, Tongren has pivoted its traditional tea industry toward matcha production, establishing the world's largest single-matcha refining workshop and a global matcha super-factory.
Gui Cha Company Deputy General Manager Liu Hai stated that the enterprise implements unified "Five Standards" management across its tea gardens, with raw material bases certified organic by multiple countries, and a single quality standard adaptable to both premium domestic and overseas markets. This year's production capacity is projected to reach 5,000 tons, integrating with 200,000 mu of European-standard tea gardens across the province. Domestic sales are distributed nationwide while exports reach over 60 countries, placing the company first in national production and sales volume and second globally.
Going forward, the enterprise will continue expanding standardized tea gardens, deepen focus on the Greater Bay Area market, consolidate traditional overseas markets, and explore emerging Nordic markets.
From eggs to matcha, high standards have become the "passport" for Tongren's agricultural products to go global. In recent years, Tongren has seized the reform pilot opportunity for ecological product value realization, establishing a pathway of "standards as foundation, certification for credibility, and branding for empowerment." Under the unified "Fanjingshan Treasures" public brand, the city aggregates quality agricultural resources to promote collective market expansion.
Currently, the city has established 51 vegetable basket production bases for the Greater Bay Area, a 240% increase from 2022, with industry output value exceeding 2.5 billion yuan.
