The timeline was remarkably compressed: from the first negotiation meeting on June 26 to the official opening, including the specialized fit-out of this space-grade facility, only 57 days elapsed. For a company deeply rooted in spatial information technology, this marks a pivotal step—extending its core expertise from ground-based satellite data processing algorithms into the advanced domains of on-orbit intelligent computing and satellite engineering.

During those 57 days, five parallel workstreams—negotiation, site selection, renovation, registration, and launch—were tightly interwoven. Li Zi, Party Secretary of Dongjing Town, emphasized the goal of "receiving good projects, implementing them swiftly, and ensuring their healthy growth." The town's investment promotion center worked shoulder-to-shoulder with the SiXiang team, effectively converting a traditional sequential process into a concurrent one. This collaborative approach laid a robust hardware foundation for the company's future on-orbit technology innovation and independent core technology development.

A Tight Schedule from Day One

The project's timeline was set with intensity from the very first meeting on June 26. What the company required was not ordinary office space, but a specialized laboratory capable of supporting the entire chain of R&D, testing, and validation–a facility demanding high standards, strict specifications, and urgent delivery. The pace was unrelenting: just five days after the initial discussion, a site selection contract was signed on July 1. Following this, design and renovation proceeded simultaneously, with the space-grade laboratory's professional fit-out completed in just 28 days. On August 18, the company successfully completed its registration, with corporate formalities and facility upgrades running in parallel. By August 22, the SiXiang Technology Systems Engineering R&D Center (DEX Lab) was officially operational. "Songjiang District and Dongjing Town helped us quickly secure a high-standard, suitable plant, enabling the project to become operational much sooner and buying precious development time for the company," noted Gu Juan, a project leader.

This speed is attributed to Dongjing Town's "Four Comprehensives" service model: comprehensive company throughout the process, comprehensive tracking across the entire lifecycle, comprehensive precision service for the whole chain, and comprehensive support assurance. The district is already home to a national-level SME characteristic industry cluster focused on satellite internet, gathering over 100 upstream and downstream enterprises with a projected industry scale of 23 billion RMB in 2025. Led by chain leaders like Yuanxin Satellite and Ges Aerospace, the "Qianfan Constellation" is accelerating its network deployment, establishing a foundational infrastructure for space-based computing.

A Critical Leap: From Ground-Based to On-Orbit Computing

This "acceleration" on the ground serves a deeper purpose: tackling the "deep waters" of technological R&D. SiXiang Technology has long specialized in spatial intelligent information applications, building strong expertise in satellite ground data processing, intelligent parsing algorithms, spatial scenario applications, and overall satellite system design. However, the industry is undergoing profound transformation, with rapid iteration in commercial aerospace and a clear trend toward satellite intelligence and integration. The traditional model of "collecting data on-orbit, computing on the ground" is becoming a bottleneck, unable to meet the demands for high precision and high timeliness in space applications.

Gu Juan stated that, leveraging its new space-grade R&D facility, SiXiang Technology will consolidate its capabilities in technology development, system engineering, and on-orbit validation, pursuing breakthroughs in three key directions:

Moving Algorithms Onboard Satellites. Through its new R&D center, the company is conducting system development, technical testing, and full-scenario validation. The goal is to break down the barriers between on-orbit and ground algorithms, transforming satellites from mere "data transporters" into platforms capable of autonomous perception and rapid response. This significantly enhances the service efficiency and responsiveness of remote sensing satellites.

Making Satellite Development Repeatable and "Documented." Addressing common industry pain points such as long development cycles, difficulty reusing technical expertise, and challenges in unifying iteration baselines, SiXiang Technology is building a systematized, reusable, and fast-iterating product-line R&D system. This approach translates complex, customized development logic into clear, executable product specifications, lowering the barrier for satellite users lacking extensive engineering experience.

Ensuring New Tech Clears "Ground Checks" Before "Space Flight." Relying on its professional testing environment, the company is establishing a "dual-engine" validation system combining ground simulation and on-orbit testing. This closes the final loop in technology development: new technologies undergo rigorous, closed-loop validation from theoretical derivation and ground testing to final space application.
