China's Ministry of Natural Resources and the China Meteorological Administration jointly issued an orange geological hazard weather risk warning at 6 PM on September 3. The warning period spans from 8 PM on September 3, 2026, to 8 PM on September 4, covering specific regional hotspots.

Areas including southern Zhejiang, eastern and southern Fujian, southern Jiangxi, parts of southern Hunan, parts of eastern Guangdong, and parts of southern Tibet face a relatively high risk of geological disasters, classified as yellow-level alerts. Higher-risk zones are concentrated in parts of southern Zhejiang, parts of eastern and southern Fujian, parts of southwestern Jiangxi, and parts of southeastern Hunan, where the orange-level warning applies.

Local governments and relevant departments are instructed to implement emergency response protocols to fortify defenses against potential geological hazards. The public is urged to closely monitor the warning information and exercise caution when traveling to areas under geological hazard alerts.

Residents in high-risk zones and dangerous areas within the orange warning region should evacuate immediately to nearby shelters as directed by local disaster prevention authorities. Individuals living near slopes, cliffs, gullies, or water bodies should heed evacuation signals and relocate promptly to designated safe zones. Those in yellow-alert areas are advised to stay updated on warning changes, pay attention to warning signs, and avoid lingering in high-risk locations such as valleys, slopes, and cliffs.
