Legend Holdings (03396) climbed nearly 5% during Monday morning trading on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, last changing hands at HK$18.68, up 3.84%, with turnover reaching HK$115 million. The move follows the company's interim results release, which showed revenue of RMB 362.935 billion for the first half, representing a 29% year-on-year increase, driven primarily by substantial revenue growth at its subsidiaries Lenovo Group and Levima Advanced Materials. Net profit attributable to equity holders surged 219% to RMB 2.23 billion, buoyed by a recovery in the value of its industrial incubation and investment portfolio.
Excluding one-off items, net profit attributable to equity holders stood at RMB 5.812 billion, an impressive 834% increase compared to the prior year period. During the first half, Legend Holdings facilitated the listing of 12 portfolio companies across sectors including artificial intelligence, semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, and healthcare. An additional 30-plus companies are currently in the pipeline awaiting their public debuts, while the company has invested in over 80 technology projects spanning AI, quantum computing, and optical interconnect technologies.
To date, Legend Holdings has invested in more than 300 companies within the artificial intelligence sector. Its systematic expansion into other frontier fields includes over 110 healthcare and pharmaceutical enterprises, more than 60 green energy and future energy firms, and upwards of 50 companies focused on embodied intelligence.
