Nio Inc's American depositary shares declined 4% on Tuesday as investors reacted to the automaker's latest monthly delivery data, released just ahead of its scheduled earnings announcement.
The company disclosed during the lunch break in Hong Kong trading that it handed over 35,836 vehicles in August, representing a 14.47% increase year-on-year but a slight 0.27% dip compared with July.
This marked the second straight month of declining deliveries on a sequential basis for Nio Inc, despite the total remaining above the 35,000-vehicle threshold for a fourth consecutive month.
The flagship Nio brand continued to shine, delivering 21,174 units, a robust 101.18% surge versus the prior year and a 5.83% uptick from the previous month.
However, the budget-oriented Onvo marque persisted as a weak spot, moving just 8,810 units in August—a 46.39% plunge year-on-year and a 13.24% slide from July's tally.
