2300 GMT - The spotlight for Clinuvel Pharmaceuticals is increasingly turning to the readout of the CUV105 trial, says Jefferies. It is due by the end of December. Clinuvel is currently involved in a Phase 3 clinical trial of afamelanotide as a potential treatment for vitiligo, which affects some 0.75% of the U.S. population. Current treatment options are suboptimal, analyst David Stanton says. Vitiligo is a repigmentation disease with a large total addressable market of up to US$570 million in the first two years of entry to the market. "Given Phase 2 trial results, we believe afamelanotide may eventually offer a more definitive, full-body solution than current standards of care in vitiligo," says Jefferies, which has a buy call on Clinuvel.
