BioMarin Settles Patent Lawsuits With Ascendis Pharma Over Yuviwel

BioMarin Pharmaceutical (BMRN) said Monday it entered into a binding agreement to resolve all global patent disputes with Ascendis Pharma (ASND) concerning the drug Yuviwel used to treat linear growth failure.
Ascendis will pay royalties of 20% on US net sales and 18% on sales in the European Union, Brazil, and South Korea through May 2030, the company said.
The license covers all present and future uses of the treatment, including achondroplasia, BioMarin said.
The deal terminates pending legal proceedings in the US, Germany, Denmark, Brazil, and South Korea, it added.
