Hutchmed (HCM) said Monday its experimental combination of Orpathys and Tagrisso demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in progression-free survival in a China phase 3 trial involving certain patients with non-small cell lung cancer.

The company said the combination also showed encouraging overall survival benefits compared with Tagrisso alone, which was a secondary endpoint of the trial.

Orpathys is jointly developed by AstraZeneca (AZN) and Hutchmed and commercialized by AstraZeneca, the company said.
