Bitcoin May Avoid a Negative September

1120 ET - Bitcoin is pacing back towards the $80,000 mark, with the cryptocurrency up 3.3% to $79,975. Bitcoin has lost on average 3% each September since 2013, according to analysts with Bitget Wallet. But depending on how market factors turn out this month bitcoin may buck that trend, says the firm's Lacie Zhang in a note. "This week's macro calendar will likely decide which September we get," says Zhang. "With CPI and the Fed decision still to come later in the month, Friday's [jobs report] is the first real test of whether September breaks its historical pattern." Ethereum rises 3% to $2,466, and XRP is up 5.3% to $1.42.
