0541 GMT - The dollar-yen pair's clear break below its 200-day moving average on Thursday signals that a longer-term bearish trend could be emerging. A previous breach in February 2025 led to a 8.5% drop by late April 2025 and another instance in July 2024 led to a decline of about 7.6% by mid-September 2024. On Thursday, the dollar fell 1.8% against the yen. If U.S. jobs numbers due later Friday are weak, they could trigger further dollar-yen selling. The dollar is at Y156.34, compared with the 200-day moving average of Y158.46.
