Sector Update: Tech Stocks Fall Premarket Tuesday

Technology stocks were falling premarket Tuesday, with the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLK) down 1.5% and the State Street SPDR S&P Semiconductor ETF (XSD) 2.1% lower.

Sony Group's (SONY) semiconductor division will build an artificial intelligence model for facility maintenance with Saudi Aramco, Nikkei Asia reported. Shares of Sony were up more than 1% pre-bell.

Salesforce (CRM) is investing in human resources software company HiBob as part of a $160 million funding round that values the startup at more than $3.2 billion, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter. Salesforce stock was down more than 1% premarket.

Cerebras Systems (CBRS) is developing a new artificial intelligence data center in Mikkeli, Finland, the company said. Shares of Cerebras Systems were down more than 3% pre-bell.
