Palantir Technologies (PLTR) Chief Executive Alex Karp will become the first lead investor in a defense tech startup launched by former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, Fedorov said Tuesday in a post on X.

The size of the investment was not disclosed.

In a video published on Fedorov's X page, Karp said that the venture could bring Ukraine's knowledge and acumen of warfare "as a product to allied countries."

Other details about the company, including its name, the technologies it plans to build and the extent of Karp's involvement, remain unknown.

Last week, the Financial Times reported that Fedorov, who was dismissed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy last month, was seeking investment in US for a defense technology venture. Fedorov told the outlet that he was in discussions with "a large number" of prospective investors.

Palantir did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
