Taiwan's semiconductor industry is aiming for a record production value of over NT$8 trillion in 2026, driven by artificial intelligence and high-performance computing demand, according to the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Industrial Development Administration (IDA) on Wednesday.
Speaking at SEMICON Taiwan, IDA Director-General Chiu Chiu-hui said the agency has supported 55 IC design projects and 29 equipment manufacturers.
Driven by advanced packaging needs, domestic semiconductor equipment output alone is projected to top NT$270 billion this year.
