Collins Foods (ASX:CKF) said total company sales in the first 17 weeks of fiscal 2027 were up 6.6% on the prior corresponding period on a constant currency basis, with KFC total sales up 6.4% in Australia, down 2.5% in the Netherlands, and up 44% in Germany, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.
The company said KFC same-store sales were up 3.4% in Australia, down 3.4% in the Netherlands, and down 5.3% in Germany, with Europe starting the new fiscal year softer than expected due to weak consumer confidence, a prolonged heatwave, and a demanding prior-year comparison arising from the Squid Game promotion.
Performance has since strengthened "significantly" in both Germany and the Netherlands compared with the first eight weeks, with same-store and total sales both showing material improvement in trends, the company added.
