Automakers Urge Congress to Ban Chinese Vehicles in US

The Alliance for Automotive Innovation, which represents General Motors (GM), Ford (F), Toyota (TM), Volkswagen, Hyundai, Honda (HMC) and Stellantis (STLA), urged Congress in a letter on Thursday to permanently ban Chinese vehicles and connected-vehicle technology from the US.
The group said the Congress should pass legislation before the end of the year, citing national security concerns and China's growing role in global auto manufacturing.
General Motors, Ford, Toyota, Honda and Stellantis did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
