Market Expectations of Fed Rate Hike in September Jump After Jobs Data

1243 GMT - Markets increased their expectations of a Federal Reserve rate hike on Sept. 16 after August U.S. jobs data came in stronger than expected. Markets price in a 61% probability of a hike, compared with equal odds of a hike or unchanged rates prior to the data, according to LSEG. Data showed 162,000 new jobs were created in August, triple the 53,000 forecast in The Wall Street Journal's poll of analysts. July job creation data were also revised upwards.
